A miracle story: Feng shui and finding gold

Since I am a Feng Shui practitioner and know the importance of keeping our surroundings clean, I began cleaning my home on the 15th of October.

The story begins on the 22nd of October, right on the next day of my mom’s birthday. Since it was Navratris, which is an auspicious time for Indians, I usually clean my home at this time of the year.

We donate whatever has been unused for a long time, fix whatever is broken and buy new stuff. Also, since it’s Diwali on the 13th of November, I wanted my home to be as clean as possible before the festival of lights.

So, on the morning of 22nd October, when I asked my mom for what needs cleaning, she gave me a box full of her old sewing kits.

Sewing and knitting were once one of my mom’s hobbies. But since she didn’t feel any inclination to pursue it anymore, she felt that it was finally time to part ways the thread rolls, needles and the hundreds of buttons that she had collected over God knows how many years.

As I sat with her on the table, I began sorting out everything. My mom was a bit nostalgic and on some level even sentimental because once all this stuff meant a lot to her, and now it was all going to go away. It happens sometimes that you feel sad, when it’s time to say goodbye to your old things, even if they don’t serve you anymore.

Occasionally, whenever I saw something that might be of value, I asked my mom if we should keep it. Since she was more attached to this stuff but had made a decision to let it go, I thought I would make it easier for her and finish this work as quickly as possible.

While I was going through the button box, I found a men’s suit button which was quite unique. It had etchings like usually only gold cufflinks or jewellery does. I immediately asked my mom about it.

She looked at it casually and told me, “I don’t remember this one but it resembles one of the gold buttons that your grandfather had given to your father on our marriage.”

I was like, oh alright, cool.

Until she said, “There were 4 gold buttons and we only have 3 now, one of them got lost years ago.”

My mind, instincts and intuition all became active in an instant.

I thought to myself, what if this button that I am holding right now was the same one that got lost?

I asked my mom the question that was on my mind, she was skeptical in her answer. But I insisted.

My lizard brain was telling me that what I was holding right now was made of gold.

“So if this button matches the 3 others that you have, then what will you have to say about me?” I asked her.

She laughed.

"There is a very slim chance that this is the same one."

"But what if it does turn out to be real gold?" I asked.

“I will say that I raised a genius, with super powers and a complete miracle worker,” mom said unmoved.

My mom is one tough cookie. So getting an opportunity to prove something to her was delicious! It was more like a challenge.

Every son and daughter wants to prove to their parents that they raised a gem of a person, and I was going to prove to her that she raised solid gold!

I said, “Fine, let’s see those other 3 buttons and I am damn sure that this one will match them.”

She said, “I would love to but they are in the bank locker and I don’t have time to go there today.”

My heart sank a little but my spirit was already soaring.

“When can we go then?”

“Hmmm, Thursday looks good, 25th.”

This was the conversation I had with her on the 22nd. Today is the 25th and I went with mum to the bank lockers and as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

After so many years, the Gold button is finally reunited with it's family! =D

Now some of you may feel that I just got lucky or that it’s good fortune, luck or fate or destiny. But miracles happen to people every day. I know that because too many things that don’t make any sense, defy logic or aren't practical have happened in my own life.

I have seen many miracles happen in the lives of my readers as well and they happen on a daily basis.

This is just one of the crazy stories I am sharing with you because I want you to live a good life. If you haven’t already read my books (especially the Black Books and the Gold Book), make sure you do because you would be doing yourself a huge favor. Understanding how life, this Universe and miracles work is paramount to living the life of your dreams.

It’s my job as an author to give you as much knowledge as I can and your job to make sure you read it. If you found this little incident that happened in my life inspiring then do share it with your loved ones as well.

Life’s good, God is great. See you soon!
